Fellowship & Community Life

Our parish includes people of different ages and abilities—people who come every week, or once a month, or a few times a year—people who grew up Episcopalian and people who are new to being a Christian. While our worship together is both foundational and an expression of our love, we want to be together in other ways and get to know each other in different settings.

In addition to being together in Education & Formation and Social Action, we love a good hangout or party. Here are some things happening in our parish now.

Coffee Hour

Did you know Episcopalians love Coffee Hour? It’s true! Join us after the Sunday service for coffee and treats and a time to just be together. This is led by parishioners each week, who make coffee in our kitchen and set out the treats. In the summer, we worship outside on the lawn, and so Coffee Hour becomes Lemonade on the Lawn.

Church Parties for Church Feasts

Starting in 2024, throughout the year, we will celebrate some important Church feast days with midweek parish parties for all ages. Come eat a dinner you didn’t have to cook! Join us for the first one on Tuesday, October 1, from 5-6:30PM in the Great Hall. Follow us on Instagram and sign up for the weekly email with our administrator to be kept in the loop.

Redeeming Knitters

This group meets at the parish and knits! All knitters, from beginners to advanced, are welcome to join. Bring your own project or knit a hat or blanket for the Grow Clinic (or a duck.) And, if you have yarn that you have no use for, please consider donating it to the Redeeming Knitters. Check with our administrator for the next meeting time.

Redeemer Golfers

This is an all-gender, intergenerational, Redeemer golf group with various abilities and splendid, positive attitudes. They gather on Saturday mornings throughout the year: from late March to late November at Pine Meadows Golf Club in Lexington (9-holes; 2 hours); and from early December to mid-March at X-Golf in Burlington (2 hours in simulation bays). Anyone who wishes to be added to the email distribution list should reach out to Lance, or to the office.

The Parish Retreat

Once a year at the Barbara C. Harris Camp & Conference Center, many parishioners and our clergy gather for a weekend of fellowship and fun. This year we are on Retreat the first weekend of October; the deadline for registering was mid-August, but you can reach out to our administrator to see if any spot is left. Scholarships for retreat are available.

Dinner for 8

Parishioners re-started these home gatherings of parishioners in 2022; if you are interested in joining one, please reach out to our rector.

Parish Committees

Can a parish committee be fun? We think so! Some of our committees do most of their work while sitting (like the Budget Committee or Adult Forum Committee) while others have a bit more physical action (like Property Committee or our garden volunteers). If you’re wondering where you might be needed or what might be possible, reach out to our rector or ask a parishioner at Coffee Hour.

Fellowship in Social Action

Taking action together is also a time of fellowship. Events like the (massive!) Patriots Day Pancake Breakfast, or the Grow Clinic Holiday Party, are a great chance to be together.
