Updated Covid Guidelines
All are warmly invited to participate in worship in whatever way is safest and best for them – at home or in person.
Our Regathering Committee has recommended and the Vestry has approved new COVID guidelines.
We often joke that our hope is that our masking guidelines irritate everyone equally. But St. Paul is serious when he calls us to “bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.” It is a burden that the pandemic continues, a burden to have to remember what seem like over-cautious masking rules. And those who live in high risk households and have to weigh serious risks every day carry the heaviest burdens. We seek to simplify our guidelines to reflect this new stage of the pandemic AND to make our worship and formation as accessible as possible to those who are at high risk. May we bear one another’s burdens with care and good humor.
Masking is optional with the following three exceptions:
Singing (research consistently shows that singing is a “superspreader” activity)
In the masked/distanced section of the church (right/Memorial Garden side)
For children coming forward at the eucharist (as we crowd tightly together)
Outside the context of worship, the Adult Faith Formation side of the Great Hall is masked. Masking decisions for other formation activities are made by participants and leaders.
Please feel free to reach out to us with questions or concerns.
